Welcome to my website and world of flowers.

I am truly inspired by how beautiful and perfect flowers are, the colour and structure of each flower type is fascinating just to observe.

It never fails to amaze me just how many different types there are to discover and paint.

I remember as a child having Sweet William in our garden and started drawing at the age of three. Even then I was drawn to the red and purples, which to me have the most intense colour.

I usually paint flowers outside in the garden just as they are becoming fully open to capture their fullness and the light. Often I will photograph them depending on our well known weather in Scotland and work from that in the studio.

A flower is in full bloom for only a short time, it is a fleeting moment of nature at its best, I have to paint it and preserve it.

Whether fresh in a vase or on a painted canvas flowers are uplifting wherever you are.
